Occasionally, inattentive behavior can be extreme and may constitute Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). ADHD can occur in multiple ways, such as poor performance in school, misbehavior, and difficulty making friends. There are three types of ADHD:
- ADHD Predominantly Inattentive – the child finds it difficult to pay attention
- ADHD Predominately Hyperactive-Impulsive – the child is hyperactive or acts on impulse too frequently
- ADHD Combined Inattentive and Hyperactive-Impulsive – a combination of the previous two
